L.A.C.E. Program Coordinator
Job description:
Under the direction of the Programs Director, the LACE Program Director is responsible for planning and organizing all daily after school activities for students aged 14-21 years of age who are currently enrolled in 6th-12th grade in the Waterbury area. In addition, is responsible for planning, implementing and delivery of programming on days of ‘No School’.

Job requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Applicants must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license
- Fully insured own transportation
- Minimum High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- Experience working with adolescents
- Self-starter and perform job with little supervision
- Possess the ability to communicate and follow verbal and written directions
- Possess excellent Customer Service skills
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience working with adolescents
- Supervise afterschool schedule of 1pm – 6:30p Mon-Thurs
- Subject to Criminal Background Check
- Fluent in Spanish preferred.
Duties:
- Provide participants with the appropriate leadership during the program.
- Develop and plan activities that incorporate program goals into the daily routine
- Provide tutoring and mentoring
- Assist with College Admissions process
- Promote healthy eating
- Schedule athletic activities
- Schedule Financial Aid and Scholarship Consultation
- Schedule and supervise College Visits and Field Trips
- Maintain open communication between Hispanic Coalition and L.A.C.E. Program
- Prepare activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children
- Communicate with the parents through daily dropâ€off and pickâ€up
- Maintain a safe environment for participants
- Maintain records of attendance and signâ€in/out sheets and turn them in to the Programs Director
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled
- Report any problems or concerns with participants, other employees, or providers to the Programs Director
- Responsible for all activity and room preparations/clean-up for the program
- Keep storage room orderly and well inventoried
- Request supplies as needed
- Follow and enforce district policies and procedures
- Proactive response to any issues and concerns regarding the school district
- Other duties as assigned

Terms of Employment:
- Regular Full Time or Per Diem, LACE Program Coordinator; work hours not flexible, Contingent to requirements of the specific contract or agency needs.
- The Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury, Inc., Personnel Policies and Procedures (Employee Handbook) takes effect on 91st date of hire.
- Hourly Salary: dependent on experience and education.
- All Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury, Inc., employees are employed on an “at-will” basis. Employment at the Hispanic Coalition is for an indefinite period of time and is terminable at any time, with or without cause being shown, by either the employee or the Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury, Inc.

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
