Need a birth certificate or ID? Help with a housing or benefits application? A ride to a medical appointment, or a document translated? Our Case Management team sits down with you, looks at the whole situation, and connects you with the right program or agency in Greater Waterbury.
Seniors, adults with developmental disabilities, job seekers, students and families all find a place here. Every program grew out of a need our community named.
Person-centered support, certified by the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services, that helps individuals live more independently: behavioral and nursing support, transition planning, family training and respite.
Our adult day center has welcomed Hispanic seniors since 1972. Breakfast and lunch every day, rides to and from the center, and friends to share them with, Monday through Friday, 8am to 2pm.
Help with vital records, benefits and housing applications, family crisis intervention, document translation and rides to medical appointments.
Free English classes Monday through Thursday evenings, plus funded career training toward jobs in construction, manufacturing, CDL driving and nurse aide work.
A partnership with Waterbury Public Schools to grow the number of Latino educators, so more students see themselves at the front of the classroom.
We connect families with the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants for legal, language and social services, by appointment at its Waterbury office.
The Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury was formed to provide the programs our community asked for, through advocacy, collaboration and education. Today we serve families in Waterbury, Naugatuck, Wolcott, Middlebury, Thomaston and surrounding towns from our home at the River Baldwin Recreation Center.

Families celebrate Three Kings Day at the River Baldwin Recreation Center with parranda music, face painting and gifts from the Three Kings.
An evening at the Palace Theater honoring community leaders and awarding scholarships. Proceeds fund Coalition programs.
The community names an honoree and raises the Puerto Rican flag at Waterbury City Hall, a tradition in its 40th year.

We run VIDAS developmental support services, La Casa Bienvenida adult day center for seniors, case management, the RIBA Aspira Career Academy, and RRaÃces, a teacher pipeline with Waterbury Public Schools. Yes. The RIBA Aspira Career Academy offers free ESL classes at beginner and intermediate levels, Monday through Thursday, 6 to 8pm. Enroll at ribaaspira.org.
