South Main Street Fire Relief

Our neighbors lost their homes. Let’s help them start over.

On July 9, a third-alarm fire tore through nearly half a block of South Main Street in Waterbury. Everyone made it out alive. Almost nothing else did.

100% goes directly to the affected families. The Hispanic Coalition of Greater Waterbury is the agency designated to receive these gifts.

What happened

Fifteen neighbors displaced in a single night.

The fire began in an apartment building near South Main and Clay Street and spread across the block, leaving roughly half a dozen buildings uninhabitable. Families walked out with the clothes on their backs and little else. No residents were hurt.

Everyone survived. Now they need somewhere to sleep, clothes to wear, and a way to rebuild.

100%

of every dollar goes straight to the families affected by the South Main Street fire. Not overhead. Not fees. The families.
