Mayor for A Day
The Traditions Continues! In 1987, La Casa Bienvenida established the proud tradition of selecting a Waterbury resident of Puerto Rican decent and designating the individual as Puerto Rican Mayor for the Day during the annual Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall. The meaningful intent was done to recognize, celebrate, and honor the accomplishments and personal contributions made by Puerto Ricans to our beloved community. Please use the attached form and submit all nominations by Saturday June 1st, 2024. Once nominations are received, the Board of Directors will be making the selection. You can submit your nominations by emailing a completed Award Nomination Form to [email protected].
- Nominee must be of Puerto Rican decent
- If person was already a Mayor for a Day before, they cannot be nominated again
- Must be able to attend the Annual Puerto Rican Flag Raising Ceremony scheduled on Friday September 13th, 2024 at Waterbury City Hall at 10am.
